Conditions of Group Hire

The £100 deposit system is for wedding or special events where multiple outfits of four or more are required. Orders for less than four outfits placed here will be charged at full cost of the hire.

You will receive a written receipt of your order within 7 days of placing the deposit and a self-measurement form for each wearer with instructions on how to measure, also see our measuring section on this site.

The sixth outfit is free (cheapest outfit applies), or multiples of six. You will only be charged accidental damage insurance of £10 on the sixth or multiple of six outfits. Example, if twelve suits are booked you pay for ten and insurance for twelve.

What your Hire Includes

Adult Regalia Hire include the following: 

Charlie Jacket and Waistcoat with tartan detail on the tail and sleeve. Kilt of choice,  Dress Ysgrepan (sporran),  White Wing Collared Shirt/Cufflinks, Tartan Bow, Gold Kilt Pin. Shoes, Cream Hosiery, Sock Flashes and accidental damage insurance.

Boys Regalia Hire include the following:

As above but Argyle Jacket with tartan detail (no waistcoat), cufflinks not needed, no kilt pin and no shoes and accidental insurance.

Acceptance of Orders

Orders should be placed as early as possible so that we can ensure supply. We hold the right not to supply multiple orders received less than three months before the wearing date. Orders are only accepted for supply to mainland Britain and Northern Ireland. Please see delivery section below.

Payment

£100 deposit  (minimum of four persons) will be taken at the time of ordering. The balance of the order will be taken three months before the wearing date.  Extended hire charges (see section below) will be taken manually at the the same time as the balance, 3 months before the wearing date. Late return and lost item charges will be charged  manually if  liable.

Delivery

We will send your outfit(s) to arrive three days before the wearing date. We are in the hands of our couriers and do not accept responsibility in the unlikely event the outfits are a day later. Certain areas such as rural or northern Scotland and northern Ireland may receive the outfits two days before the wearing date. Certain postcodes in rural Scotland, northern Scotland and northern Ireland will incur a delivery surcharge and we will inform you of this as soon as the order is received and the delivery address known.

We will do all we can to keep you informed on all aspects of delivery.

Return to us

We will collect the outfit(s) back from you the day following the wearing date. In the event of Friday or Saturday wearing we will collect back from you on the Monday following, excepting Bank Holidays when we will collect back from you on the first working day following the Bank Holiday. In the event our couriers are unable to collect back from you (outfits not ready for collection or you are not in), there is a charge of £20.00 for each day late after the specified return date, for each suit. Please ensure the outfit(s) are ready for collection.

Measurements

It is your responsibility to supply sizes for the hired garments as per the measurement chart on this website. We require all adult measurements three months and boys one month before the function. In the event of garments not fitting at the time of delivery we will do all possible to help but the cost of delivery will be charged to you.

Extended Hires

Outfits required for a period longer than stated above the charge is:

•  Up to one week an additional 25%.
•  One to two weeks an additional 50%. 
•  Two weeks to one month an additional 100%.
•  Longer period than four weeks is only by special arrangement.

Accidental Damage Insurance

Your outfit(s) are covered for accidental damage only. Loss or malicious damage is not covered and you are liable for payment of all missing items. We will charge for all damaged and/or missing orders or items.

We suggest that you get separate insurance cover, especially in the case of weddings, to ensure that loss of outfits or part of outfits, whilst in your possession, are insured, and also cover for cancellation of the event.

Cancelled Orders

We will refund, as follows:

• No refund of the £100 deposit if cancellation 3 months before wearing date, but no further payment required.
• After the balance is paid 3 months before the wearing date no refund can be considered.  

Postponed Orders

We will accept postponed orders in extenuating circumstances. Please inform us as soon as possible of any change of dates and the reason for the postponement in writing to:
